JAMIE

OWNER

Jamie is one of the three founding owners of TMJ Construction Services, which was established in 2002. Over the past 20 years, Jamie has worn many hats in order to make the company succeed, until he found his strengths. Creating new relationships is where he really excels and enjoys meeting with new people daily to help them with their exterior remodeling projects. Born and raised in Ames, Jamie goes to great lengths to make sure all of his clients get what they desire from a construction point of view, to assure their satisfaction. In Jamie’s free time, he will often be found on the sidelines or in the dugouts of his kids’ youth sports. Coaching and the positive impact it has on the youth is something he truly loves.

Chris

OWNER

Chris joined the TMJ Construction team in 2003 after graduating from Iowa State with a degree in Ag Systems and Technology. Growing up in Ames, it was an easy decision for him to stick around and join his high school friends in growing the TMJ business. Chris has had hands-on experience in almost every facet of exterior construction installation. In addition to the day to day chores of operating the business, Chris manages the siding and window divisions at TMJ. He takes great pride in making sure his crews exceed the homeowner’s expectations. In his spare time he enjoys relaxing with the family and spending time in a tree stand when time allows.

Jim

OWNER

Jim is one of the three founding owners of TMJ Construction Services. After graduating high school from Ames he continued his education at Ellsworth Community College where he acquired a degree in Construction Management. Jim spends most of his time with our roofing teams to ensure each project runs smoothly and efficiently. Jim has been in the roofing industry for 25 years and there is no roofing problem Jim can’t solve. In his spare time, you will often find him watching his kids participate in youth sports.

Curt

Operations Manager

Curt joined our team at TMJ Construction Services in 2014 after several years of designing and installing residential landscapes in and around the Ames area. Born and raised in Ames, Curt takes great pride in making sure our customers get what they want when it comes to our roofing and gutter projects. Once you’ve met our sales team, your project is handed over to Curt to make sure things go off without a hitch, from scheduling, ordering of materials, and continued communication throughout the project. In his free time, Curt enjoys all things sports related, whether watching them or actually playing whenever possible. When the seasons permit, you can find him out hunting or fishing as time allows.

Jason

Sales Manager

Jason has been with TMJ Construction Services since 2016 and has worked in the construction industry for over 20 years. Jason started out framing houses, worked in construction distribution for over 10 years, and finally found his niche in sales and working with homeowners. Originally from the Cedars Falls area, Jason moved to Ames in 2000 (best move ever) where he met his wife and started a family. Jason enjoys meeting with clients, listening to their needs, and helping them with options for exterior home improvement projects. In his spare time, Jason enjoys hitting the little white ball on the golf course, watching his kids in their sports activities, and traveling.

Travis

Small Repairs Manager

Travis started working with TMJ in the summer of 2016 and didn’t know the difference between a shingle and a piece of siding. From the Mason City area, he moved to Ames in 2012 and has nestled himself into the area. Now, having years of experience completing repairs and chasing leaks, he has learned a lot and is eager to constantly expand his knowledge and resolve issues for our customers. Travis currently leads our small repairs team with TMJ that is compiled of some of our most experienced employees. Outside of work, you will find Travis spending time with his wife, family and friends or trying to figure out how to shave an extra stroke off of his golf game. He has yet to succeed in the golfing task.

Mike

Sales

Mike has been working for TMJ Construction Services since 2020. He’s pretty much the coolest thing since polymer modified asphalt. He enjoys TMJ and works hard to personify the spirit in which the company has built upon for 20 years. Attention to detail and servant leadership are what he values in working with customers. Your project goals are his project goals, from start to finish. Beyond work you will find Mike with his beautiful wife and 3 kids enjoying the outdoors and attending local events.

Chad

Siding Project Manager

Chad started with TMJ in April of 2017 as a siding Project Manager. He managed a siding crew for 10 years prior to working at John Deere and now TMJ. Chad makes sure all of his siding crews know their mission and have the materials they need to complete the job. He also handles questions and concerns any homeowner or contractor may have. He takes great pride in making sure things run smoothly, from start to finish. His hobbies/interests are following his daughter in gymnastics, volleyball, and teaching her how to golf. He also enjoys fishing (with my daughter or friends), hunting, golfing, and slow pitch softball when I have time.

Makenzie

Office Manager

Makenzie has served as the Office Manager since 2018. From scheduling appointments to Human Resources, she does it all. Her professionalism, organization, and welcoming demeanor are crucial to TMJ’s success. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids, being outside, and cheering on her favorite sports teams in the Iowa State Cyclones and Green Bay Packers!

Ryan

Owner

With a background as Regional Sales Director for one of the largest distributors of residential and commercial roofing products in the US, Ryan has a deep understanding of the industry.  In 2021, Ryan made a significant move by joining TMJ Construction and opening our Grimes branch.  Since then, he has been instrumental in the growth and success of our newest location. His leadership and commitment to doing things the right way have set the tone for our team, ensuring that every project is carried out with precision and excellence. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys, especially getting away to the lake or riding dirt bikes.

Jason

General Manager, Des Moines

Originally from Northwest Iowa, Jason began his career right out of college in 2002. For 12 years, he refined his skills as a residential siding subcontractor, working on both new and remodel projects.  Following this, he spent six years with James Hardie Building Products, gaining invaluable experience.  Since joining the TMJ team in 2001, Jason has brought his wealth of experience and leadership, delivering excellence in every project. Outside of work, he’s an avid golfer and traveler, but his greatest joy comes from cheering on his three kids as they compete in various sporting events.

Jenn

Office Manager

Jenn is the heart of our operations as the Office Manager of our Grimes location. With over 15 years of experience in team coordination and operations management, she keeps our office running seamlessly. Her dedication and leadership ensure that everything is in its place, so our team can focus on what they do best. Outside of the office, Jenn enjoys spending time with her family, riding her motorcycle, playing pool, cooking, baking, and crocheting!

Kirsten

Production Manager

Kirsten is one of TMJ’s Production Manager’s, bringing a strong background in operations, office management, and project management. She plays a key role in keeping our projects organized, on track, and running smoothly from start to finish.

Outside of work, Kirsten enjoys spending time with her husband, their three daughters, and their energetic fur baby, Ruby. She’s a loyal Miami Dolphins fan (you’ll find her cheering every Sunday), loves Mexican food, and enjoys discovering new parks and outdoor spaces with her family.

Tyler

Sales

Tyler brings a unique background to the team, blending hands-on experience with an insider’s understanding of the insurance and real estate worlds. He spent two years as an insurance adjuster, giving him deep knowledge of storm damage claims and the “insurance-ese” that often confuses homeowners. With an additional eight years as a realtor and real estate investor, he knows firsthand the pressures of preparing a home for sale, navigating inspection reports, and making smart, lasting improvements. Whether you’re trying to boost curb appeal before listing or need a second opinion on an inspection concern, Tyler has been in your shoes, and he’s here to make the process easier and less stressful.

Outside of work, you’ll find him golfing (enthusiastically but admittedly badly), hiking, biking, and swimming competitively at the national level. He also enjoys spending time with his amazing wife and their two energetic kids, who keep life fun and busy. Tyler looks forward to meeting you soon, whether it’s to talk siding, roofs, gutters, or maybe even swap a few bad golf stories.

Cody

Sales

Before joining the TMJ Construction team, Cody spent 12 years in the U.S. Air Force as an F-16 Jet Engine Craftsman. That role took him across the globe and gave him hands-on experience with six different types of aircraft, sharpening his precision, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail, qualities he brings to every homeowner project today.

After his military service, Cody transitioned into technical and service roles at PALFINGER, a global crane manufacturer. He advanced from technical support to project management, overseeing large aerial work platform projects.

Outside of work, Cody has always had a strong interest in home design and exterior upgrades. At TMJ, he’s proud to put his technical background to work helping homeowners protect and enhance their homes. Whether it’s a new roof, siding, or deck, Cody is committed to clear communication, trustworthy service, and making sure every job is done right.

Justin

Sales

With over 20 years of hands-on carpentry experience and more than a decade in facilities maintenance at Iowa State University, Justin brings both craftsmanship and heart to every project.

He specializes in exterior home improvements and has built a reputation for more than just getting the job done right, he’s known for building lasting relationships with the homeowners he serves.

For Justin, trust, communication, and respect are just as important as any tool or material. Whether he’s helping a neighbor with a new deck or offering guidance on a repair, he treats every home like it’s his own.

Outside of work, you’ll find Justin fishing with his boys, playing sports with his family, or out adventuring with his wife, Ellen, and their two dogs, Champ and Melo.

Austin

Sales

Austin serves as a Sales Representative at TMJ Construction Services, bringing four years of hands-on experience in the roofing and home exterior remodeling industry. His deep understanding of both the services TMJ offers and the unique needs of each customer helps him guide homeowners through every step of the process. Outside of work, Austin enjoys staying active, whether he’s working out, playing basketball, or spending time on the golf course.

Joey

Sales

Joey got his start in construction at 15 and quickly discovered a passion for building and problem-solving. With years of hands-on experience in roofing, siding, windows, doors, and decks, he takes pride in delivering high-quality work with a strong focus on detail and clear communication.

A natural people person, Joey enjoys finding the right solution for each project and making sure clients feel confident throughout the process. Outside of work, he’s a husband and proud dad to two daughters who keep him busy with sports and family time.

At TMJ Construction, Joey approaches every project like it’s his own—because to him, it is.

John

Branch Manager, Coralville

John joined TMJ Construction Services in February 2025 and serves as the Branch Manager of our Coralville location. With years of hands-on experience in both interior and exterior renovations, he brings a practical, well-rounded perspective to every project and to the team he leads.

John is known for his attention to detail and his ability to identify potential issues early, helping ensure projects run smoothly and are completed to TMJ’s high standards. His leadership helps keep work on track while maintaining the level of craftsmanship and service our customers expect.

He works closely with homeowners and team members throughout each project, focusing on clear communication, quality results, and a positive experience from start to finish.

Outside of work, John enjoys spending time with his wife and their four kids, often cheering them on at the many activities and events they’re involved in.

Jessie

Head of Marketing

Jessie is Head of Marketing, bringing more than 20 years of experience in design, branding, and business ownership to the team. With a degree in design and a career rooted in creativity and strategy, Jessie is passionate about crafting strong, authentic brands that stand out in competitive markets.

She thrives on collaboration and believes the best ideas often come from working alongside a great team, especially one willing to roll with her out-of-the-box marketing ideas (even the crazy ones).  Her approach blends fresh creativity with smart strategy, ensuring that every campaign not only looks great but drives real results.

When she’s not leading marketing efforts, Jessie is usually chasing inspiration elsewhere, whether attending concerts, traveling or spending time with her favorite people: her 3 boys and husband.

Anthony

Siding Supervisor

Anthony brings a unique blend of hands-on experience and academic insight to his role as Siding Supervisor at TMJ.  He earned his B.A. in Political Science from Iowa State University and began his career working in a non-partisan role at the Iowa State Capitol. But construction has always been in his blood, he started installing siding at just 14 years old alongside his dad.

At TMJ, Anthony oversees all siding production and works closely with Dick to support job site safety across the board.

When he’s not on-site, you’ll likely find him at the movies, he’s a big fan of The Departed and The Godfather. He also enjoys spending time with family and friends, and cheering on his favorite soccer team, Club América.

Dick

Sales

With over five decades in the roofing industry, Dick Belz brings unmatched experience, dedication, and insight to the TMJ team. He began his career in 1973, working as an installer and supervisor before joining Academy Roofing in Des Moines in 1991. There, he spent 30 years serving in roles that spanned estimating, sales, and safety.

Since 2021, Dick has been part of TMJ Construction Services, contributing his expertise in sales and job site safety, especially during hail and wind events.

Outside of work, Dick is all about family. He’s a proud grandfather to ten grandkids, ages 11 to 21, and can usually be found in the stands cheering them on in football, wrestling, basketball, baseball, competitive dance, or cheerleading. His passion for supporting the next generation mirrors the same energy he brings to every project.

Brooke

Customer Experience Coordinator

Brooke brings nearly 15 years of office administration experience to TMJ, where she now leads the window division. She’s worked in everything from dental to construction, but she’s found her place in this industry and loves being part of the team.

Outside of work, Brooke is all about family. She and her husband have been together for 10 years, married for three, and their two-year-old son is the center of her world. A dedicated Hawkeye fan, she enjoys cheering on Iowa sports, playing slow pitch softball, dirt track racing with friends, and hunting with her dad, uncles, and brother.

Dani

Dani first joined TMJ during the summers and came on full-time after graduating in 2025 with an Associate’s degree in Construction Management from DMACC. Known as TMJ’s “utility player,” she takes on a wide range of responsibilities—from hauling trailers and running equipment to delivering materials, handling small repairs, and keeping things running smoothly day to day.

Outside of work, Dani is happiest outdoors. She enjoys spending time with her family and two chocolate labs, Buck and Roxy, going on walks, hunting, trapping, and heading north to the lake. Whether at TMJ or in nature, Dani brings energy, versatility, and dedication to everything she does.

Hayden

PROJECT SUPERVISOR

Hayden brings a well-rounded background in commercial construction to his role as Project Supervisor at TMJ Construction Services. Originally from central Texas, he relocated to Iowa in June 2024 seeking a new pace and opportunities to grow. Over the past four years, Hayden has built a diverse skillset working as a laborer, survey party chief, heavy equipment operator, and site foreman. With this hands-on experience across multiple aspects of the job site, he provides both technical knowledge and practical leadership to each project. Hayden is proud to continue his career with TMJ, where he values the culture of excellence and teamwork.

Shane

PROJECT SUPERVISOR

Shane has been with TMJ Construction Services since March 2014, bringing more than 25 years of experience in the construction world. Before joining the team, he worked at Lake Lumber in Panora for 14 years, building a strong foundation of knowledge in materials and the industry. When he’s not on the job, you’ll find Shane camping, fishing, or spending time with good friends. His ultimate way to relax? Hopping on his motorcycle and riding with no destination in mind. As Shane says: “I love being part of this family called TMJ!”

Chris

GUTTER SUPERVISOR

Chris serves as the Gutter Supervisor at TMJ Construction Services, overseeing every stage of the gutter installation process to ensure projects are completed with precision and care. He provides crews with detailed work orders, meets them onsite to review expectations, and follows up after completion to verify workmanship and customer satisfaction.

A lifelong Ames resident and Ames High graduate (Class of 1998), Chris has built a career spanning more than 25 years in construction. His experience includes framing, siding, and roofing, and he also holds licenses as both an HVAC technician and plumber. This combination of skills allows him to bring a well-rounded perspective and problem-solving mindset to every project.

When he’s not on the job, Chris enjoys fishing, golfing, and restoring classic cars — a lifelong passion that reflects his appreciation for craftsmanship and detail.

Eric

PROJECT MANAGER

With 15 years in the commercial roofing industry, Eric brings extensive experience in service work and project management. From managing multiple crews to tracking down and repairing leaks firsthand, he takes pride in solving problems quickly and doing the job right. Born and raised in Pleasant Hill, Iowa, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter when he’s not on a roof, and he’s a die-hard Iowa Hawkeyes fan.

Brian

WINDOWS MANAGER

Brian has nearly 20 years of experience in the window and door industry, with a strong background in trim carpentry and framing. He takes pride in learning something from every situation and applying it moving forward—always willing to go the extra mile, especially when the job gets tough. Brian’s goal is simple: make sure every customer feels confident they hired the right team. Outside of work, he stays busy with his five kids and two grandkids. And when he’s not with family or on a jobsite, you’ll most likely find him working on motorcycles—on-road, off-road, building bikes, or helping friends with theirs.

Brent

OPERATIONS MANAGER

Brent Olmstead brings more than 31 years of hands-on experience to TMJ Construction Services, with a career in the roofing industry that began in 1995. In 2006, he founded Olmstead Roofing and built a strong reputation for quality workmanship, reliability, and doing things the right way.

As his business grew, Brent expanded into siding in 2012 and later rebranded as Olmstead Exteriors to better reflect a full range of exterior solutions. In April 2025, he began a new chapter with TMJ, bringing decades of industry knowledge, leadership, and real-world jobsite experience to the team.

Outside of work, Brent enjoys spending time at the family cabin on the lake, making memories with his family, and recharging outdoors.
